CHICAGO, Illinois — Chicago Fire FC II forward Jason Shokalook earned the 2025 MLS NEXT Pro Golden Boot award after leading the league with 20 goals in 22 matches — the most in a single season in Chicago Fire II history.

Shokalook sealed the award on Decision Day with a brace in a 3-3 draw at Columbus Crew 2 on October 5, his fifth multi-goal performance of the season — all five coming in his final eight matches. His standout moment came on July 27, when he scored four goals in a historic 9-2 victory over New York Red Bulls II at SeatGeek Stadium, a match that set the record for the most goals scored in a single MLS NEXT Pro game.

The 22-year-old from Erie, Pennsylvania also made his Major League Soccer debut earlier in the season, registering an assist off the bench in a 7-1 victory at D.C. United on July 7. He finished the 2025 campaign with 20 goals and four assists across 22 appearances, starting 17.

With the Golden Boot, Chicago Fire FC II became the first club in MLS NEXT Pro history to produce back-to-back Golden Boot winners, following David Poreba's 18-goal campaign in 2024.

Selected by Chicago with the 35th overall pick in the 2024 MLS SuperDraft from the University of Akron — where he was named the 2023 BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Year — Shokalook played 59 matches across his four-year college career, scoring 26 goals and adding 17 assists.
