ATLANTA, Georgia — Sydney Cheesman has been called up to the U.S. Under-23 Women's National Team for the program's first training camp of 2026, set to run from February 27 to March 7 in South Florida.

The LSU defender is one of only two college players named to the camp's defensive corps, joining a 24-player roster that features 19 NWSL players and two USL Super League players alongside three current collegiate players. The camp will conclude with two matches against the Mexico U-23 Women's National Team on March 3 and March 6, both at FIU Soccer Stadium in Miami.

Head coach Heather Dyche named the squad as part of U.S. Women's National Team head coach Emma Hayes's continued emphasis on the U-23 program as a pipeline for the senior side — 14 players who saw minutes with the U-23s in 2025 went on to earn full USWNT call-ups.
